Tracker Evaluations in North America
Evaluation is a common method utilized to certify competent practitioners in diverse fields and to establish credibility in research methodology. Language interpreters to Qualified acupuncturists use testing and certification to prove competence and to establish trust with potential clientele. As wildlife trackers become more involved in monitoring and research, their skills will be further questioned. Thus ten years ago Louis Liebenberg created the Tracker Evaluation System in South Africa through Cybertracker Conservation to test and certify competent trackers so that they may be employed in research, ecotourism, anti-poaching and other jobs. CyberTracker Tracker Evaluations are now available in North America, and with evaluations, we hope a means for competent trackers to prove credibility and gain employment in the application of tracking skills. Tracker evaluations are also an efficient form of education and excellent means to test observer reliability.
